In our ongoing efforts to keep our members and guests safe, AED’s (automated external defibrillators) have been installed in cabinets in our building. AED’s are used to provide immediate support for persons who are experiencing a heart attack.  They are currently being used in many airports, shopping areas, and schools and can provide emergency care until an ambulance or physician arrives.

Kristi Wiggins, RN, B.S.N. is our resource coordinator for the AED’s in our building.  She has trained the staff and most elders in the operation of the AED’s.  Several have expressed an interest in learning to use the AED.  It is our desire to have several individuals trained in the use of AED’s available at all events at our building.

On Wednesday, May 27th, Kristi will offer a training session for all who are interested in learning to operate the AED.  The session will take place in Adult Classrooms 6 and 7 immediately after our praise time.  The class is not long or difficult; all who are interested are welcome to attend.  Please note that AED training is not CPR certification and does not replace CPR certification. Those who attend will learn to use AED’s only.

If you have any questions, please contact Katie Burnett at the church office.
