Matthew 28:18-20
“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
How do you live that out in your life? How do you live your life to make disciples for Christ? Unfortunately most of the time we get busy with the aspects of life and forget that this is our mission in life. This is what it is all about. In the summer of 2004, our teens were discussing ways that they could actively live out The Great Commission, and Friends for Free was born. Friends for Free is not just a scholarship program but a jump start to discipleship. Each “friend” that joins us on a trip spends quality time with our group, becomes part of the group, and finds a place to belong learning about Christ love the entire time.
This year we chose to ask for you to “Send a Teen to Camp” in order to continue this great plan of discipleship. Our fundraisers before have been successful but we want people to know that the youth group wants to serve you any way that we can. We want to distance our association of “service work” and “payment.” We want to help you because that is how we can live our lives for Christ each and every day.
The summer is here! We will be embarking on new journeys and encountering Jesus in new and exciting ways. And thanks to your help we also will be sharing Christ with our friends and serving our family of faith in many new and exciting ways.
