Join us this Wednesday night, November 4, for a new class entitled Christian Conversation – Sharing Your Spiritual Story. This class will meet in Adult classrooms 6 & 7 and be facilitated by Dewayne Manning.

The objective of the study is two-fold. First, we want to discuss ways of expressing our faith in words of everyday life. We want to explore ways Christians can talk about their faith when they are not in church. At the most profound level, we will consider how Christians can publicly speak about their faith since they are called to bear witness to the truth.

The second objective is to discuss ways to engage people outside the faith using comfortable, meaningful conversation about the good news of Jesus. We will confess many of us may have participated in the past in what we now consider “canned” evangelistic formulas. We will emphasize the need to express our faith naturally, in comfortable, easy, mutually beneficial, and enriching ways. We will emphasize that each of us is on a spiritual pilgrimage in which growth and change is normal and expected. Rather than presenting a monologue, we will strive to seek conversational partners for vigorous, on-going, good-hearted conversation about the whole topic of God and how to bring God into our lives.

The class will be organized using resources from several books in addition to the Bible. The emphasis will be upon class participation. On occasions, we will use video presentations, particularly in emphasizing the power of story, non-theological language, and testimony.

Please make plans to join us for this powerful and important class!
