About Paul Faulkner

Paul Faulkner is founder and principal owner of Resources for Living, Ltd. (RFL), an international counseling and consulting company located in Austin, Texas; Quebec City, Canada; and Mexico City, Mexico.  As a major provider of counseling to and through such major corporations as Wal-Mart, Kroger, and IBM, over three million individuals in North America can access mental health services through RFL.  The company also provides nonprofit counseling to churches and other charitable organizations including the United Methodist Church, the Catholic Church, and World Vision.

A prolific author, Dr. Faulkner’s books include Making Things Right When Things Go Wrong (which has sold over 350,000 copies), Achieving Success Without Failing Your Family, What Every Family Needs (with Dr. Carl Brecheen), and Making Life Work.

Prior to founding RFL, Dr. Faulkner held an academic appointment for 39 years as professor of Bible at Abilene Christian University (ACU) where he founded and chaired the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy, home to a nationally accredited master’s degree program.  He currently holds the distinction of Professor Emeritus at ACU.

Dr. Faulkner is a licensed marriage and family therapist and remains active within the psychology profession through his memberships in the American Psychological Association and in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Dr. Faulkner received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree at ACU.  He received a second master’s degree and his doctorate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Texas, and has pursued postdoctoral work at Pepperdine and the American Institute for Family Relations.  Dr. Faulkner was named ACU’s Teacher of the Year, he is a past recipient of the Distinguished Christian Service Award from Harding University, and he preaches frequently at his local church.

Dr. Faulkner lives with his wife Gladys in Driftwood, Texas.
